We had boarded Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady earlier in the day. Virgin Voyages does cruise food a little differently than most other cruise lines. Virgin wants to completely disrupt the cruising industry.
We were seated immediately at a table with a view of the back of the ship. The menus, as with most menus (during the Pandemic) was a QR code that you used with the camera app on your phone. We were greeting by our server, who took our drink orders.
Upon returning with our drinks we placed our requests for our meal. I was going to start with the clam chowder and follow that up with the New York Strip with a side of Asparagus and Sauteed Mushrooms. I had every intention of finishing the meal with a Meyer Lemon Cheesecake dessert. My wife, Susan, was going to start with the corn custard and the filet mignon with the twice baked potato and caramelized onions.
Our server brought of this silver cup of warm goodness. Dinner rolls that were baked to a golden brown crust lightly topped with a touch of salt. It comes with a spoon to help
